Meet Melinda:

I'm Melinda, the proud founder of Hoopologie. Now, we proudly own Canyon Hoops and strive to continue to uphold what Canyon Hoops has always been, trustworthy and original.

Long ago, I held a dream of creating something truly special in the world—an entity that blended creativity, passion, and purpose. As someone who has always loved sports and physical movement, I believe that embracing movement can significantly enrich our lives. It’s a powerful way to express ourselves and connect with our bodies, and I knew I wanted to channel my skills, work ethic, and determination into something meaningful.

It began in Eugene, Oregon, back in 1999 when I discovered my first hoop. It was a moment that ignited my passion, leading me to delve into hoop making using tape from my father's business, Identi-Tape. Having spent years working alongside him, I developed a strong fondness for the hoop-making community. I saw a vibrant group of individuals united by a shared love for creativity and expression, and I felt an overwhelming desire to serve that community fully.

This drive ultimately resulted in the creation of Hoopologie—a space where passion and creativity are at the forefront. My journey has been nothing short of transformational, and I take immense pride in the incredible people who have joined me along the way. Together, we’ve woven a beautiful tapestry of talent and enthusiasm that embodies the spirit of the hoop community we all cherish.

Our combined passion for our work speaks volumes for the community, allowing us to foster connections that inspire and uplift one another. Every day, we strive to create an environment filled with support, creativity, and joy, making Hoopologie a haven for hoopers and free thinkers alike.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. Together, we’re not just spinning hoops; we’re building a community that celebrates the art of movement and the joy it brings to our lives. Here’s to many more years of creativity, collaboration, and hooping joy!

Meet Brady:
Hello Hoop World! My name is Brady. I joined Canyon hoops and The Spinsterz in 2024 as a warehouse hand and was trained in making polypro hoops. As someone who wasn’t exactly hoop savvy, entering this world was fascinating, and continues to surprise me to see how many different ways flow arts can serve any community.
Music, nature and my sweet dog, Bowie, are my holy trinity. Bowie is also an employee here as morale manager. He was a lost stray at a gas station when I found him... now, he goes everywhere with me, and we make a point to get outside and venture as much as we can! He’s put paws in the Atlantic, the Pacific, and many many rivers and streams in between! I love connecting through music, be it the comradery of a live show, or making music (I play violin mostly and dabble on other strings, and drums!) Since joining the team at Canyon Hoops and The Spinsterz, I’ve enjoyed expanding dance options at our local vinyl nights with the use of trainer hoops, inspired greatly by my favorite hooper, James Garner. Hoping to soon learn and incorporate some polypro tricks!

Meet Jason:
I grew up at the base of the Rockies in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where the southern desert landscapes meet the mountains, creating a vibrant hub for art and unique culture. Surrounded by this environment, I naturally became fascinated with creative expression, especially through music. As I transitioned into independent adulthood, I moved to Colorado to explore new opportunities, and Boulder quickly became one of my favorite places due to its strong culture of art and creativity. It was there that I found Hoopologie, a space where I can push the limits of my own creativity while contributing to a community that shares the same passion and love for the arts. Today, I am living my dreams in Colorado as a drummer for a metal band and competing in competitive disc golf tournaments, all made possible by the incredible support from Hoopologie and The Spinsterz.
(Jason is so awesome, he is equivalent to a secret weapon) - He is an actual machine at taping hoops.

** We are deeply thankful for our amazing team, and what each person and pup contributes.

Thank you for supporting our small business!
