Mindset
We won't stop.  We won't quit.

Our work is important and needed in this world.

YOUR work is important and needed in this world.

We NEED the artists, the creators, the passionate, the dedicated, the determined.

We need these people more than ever before.

If there is nothing else you do this year, promise me one thing.

You will take action.

You will create something.  Build something.

Anything.

Something that the world has never seen.

Something small, something big, something real, anything that shows us your creativity

Show the world what you're made of.

Be an example of what's possible.

The Strengthening Gut-Brain Connection
The link between our gut and brain is becoming clearer, with a recent study showing probiotics can help with depression, enhance cognitive function, mood, and sleep.

In the study, participants took a probiotic for 10 weeks, followed by a 4-week break and then switched to a placebo for another 10 weeks. Results showed significant improvements in cognitive measures such as problem-solving, memory, attention, and sleep quality compared to the placebo.

While further research is needed to explore how probiotics may alleviate depression specifically, two theories have emerged: gut microbes produce short-chain fatty acids that can affect mood, and certain gut bacteria may stimulate the vagus nerve, which sends mood-enhancing signals from the gut to the brain.

While supplemental probiotics may not be necessary for everyone, prioritizing gut health is beneficial for all. Start by increasing your fiber and prebiotic intake today to support both gut and brain health.

Here’s a list of probiotic-rich foods you can incorporate into your diet:
  • Yogurt (look for live and active cultures)
  • - Kefir
  • - Sauerkraut
  • - Kimchi
  • - Miso
  • - Tempeh
  • - Kombucha
  • - Pickles (fermented in brine, not vinegar)
  • - Natto (traditional Japanese food from fermented soybeans)
  • - Apple cider vinegar
  • - Fermented cheeses (like Gouda, cheddar, or Swiss)
  • - Fermented soy products (like soy sauce and tamari)
  • - Sourdough bread (made with fermented dough)
These foods can help support gut health by providing beneficial probiotics. Enjoy!

Ambassador Spotlight

Deep Dive with Jeon Eun Seon.

We caught up with Jeon to explore how the hoop, flow, circus, and performer community has impacted her life.

Jeon shared that being part of this vibrant community has profoundly enriched her experiences, providing a sense of belonging and support. The creative energy and encouragement from fellow performers have inspired her to explore new skills and push her artistic boundaries. This community has not only enhanced her confidence but has also allowed her to connect with like-minded individuals who share her passion for movement and self-expression. The friendships and collaborations formed within this space have been invaluable, fostering an environment where creativity thrives and everyone is encouraged to shine.

"Beyond personal growth, I also believe the flow arts community holds great potential for empowering women by creating job opportunities and fostering entrepreneurship. "

Jeon reflected "Many women, including myself, have discovered ways to turn their passion for hooping and flow arts into teaching, performing, and even launching businesses. This community not only nurtures creativity and expression but also supports financial independence and professional growth.  Thanks to this inclusive global flow arts community, I’ve not only expanded my skills but also connected with others who share the same love for hoop dance. I’m now passionate about introducing this joyful culture to more people, especially those who haven’t experienced hoop flow yet, and making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Whether through teaching, performing, or sharing my journey online, I hope to contribute to the growth of this beautiful community worldwide."

Weekly Wisdom

Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.

Weekend Challenge

Do the Work

One topic that often arises in my home is the idea of comfort. Raising three kids in today’s world brings many luxuries and conveniences that didn’t exist 30 years ago. It’s easy to become lazy, complacent, and soft, making it much harder for me to instill grit and tenacity in my children. This world is simply not the same as it once was. However, I must teach my kids to thrive and survive in it, right? So every time I notice they’re getting a little too comfortable, bam! I change it up. There is danger in comfort, and I want you to hear this loud and clear: Being too comfortable means avoiding struggle, pain, and hard work.

In this life, there’s no substitute for putting in the work.

There’s no shortcut, no hack, no luck, no magic pill that can help you skip the effort. You either put in the work to make your dreams a reality, or you cut corners, skip steps, and risk falling short—getting left in the dust.

Working your ass off is the only strategy that works 100 percent of the time for anything truly worthwhile.

So this weekend, I challenge you to identify the areas in your life where you're not putting in the hard work.

Where are you cutting corners or cheating yourself? When are you being too lazy, or not pushing yourself? What have you done to go above and beyond? How are you limiting your ambition?

One thing I know for sure is that when you invest good days, good weeks, and good years into your goals, the rewards become exponential, meaning, the rewards just get better and better as life goes on.  I am at a place in my life right now where I can say I am so happy I worked so hard in my 30s, it is really paying off 12 years later.

This weekend, ask yourself the tough questions. Challenge yourself to step away from comfort, even in small ways. And let me know how you’re ensuring you’re giving maximum effort!

I'm with you.
